Curvature Still Matters Off the Deck
Fairway wood faces carry their own bulge and roll curvature, and the same gear-effect logic applies: a mis-hit toward the toe or heel picks up sidespin, and the right curvature can pull that sidespin back toward your target line instead of amplifying it. Because fairway wood strikes tend to have more vertical variance than driver strikes off a tee, roll curvature often matters even more here.
We run the same head-to-head demo comparison as a driver camber fitting, scaled to the strike pattern you actually show on 3-wood or 5-wood swings, which is rarely identical to your driver pattern.
Sole Design and Turf Interaction
A fairway wood has to slide through turf cleanly on a descending strike, which means sole width and camber (the curve of the sole itself, not the face) matter as much as anything above the ground. A sole that digs on firm ground costs you distance and consistency even with a perfectly matched face.
During your session we watch how the sole interacts with a turf mat and adjust the head recommendation if digging or bouncing off the turf shows up as a pattern.
